AGE-1 Gundam AGE-1 Normal

AGE-1 Normal is probably one of the more forgettable lead Gundams, overshadowed by the later AGE versions and it is a surprise for myself that I actually went ahead to purchase the Robot Damashii version.

Well guess what? It was on sale for only 10 bucks! I don't need the AGE System to tell me that's a bargain.

I almost said that anything at that price is a good deal but the Spallow is something I'm not fond of  [Ninja robot, seriously...] and the Baqto is a stupid looking design with the blocky stumpy proportions. Don't even get me started on the dildo disaster Gurdolin.

My first impression was; that's a ridiculous looking torso. It's almost as if someone messed up with the Photoshop. Unlike other RDs, the torso isn't that articulated either. Kinda hard to do the "staring down" pose.

Nonetheless, it comes with all the basic accessories and even included a "boost" effect part for the back boosters. I didn't use it for this review as it just won't attach itself nicely. I was pretty happy with what I got.

The figure itself is very articulated and flexible. No complaints on it except for the interchangeable hands. Instead of ball joints, it uses a male/female peg which makes it hard to pull out. I'm not interested in trying to break my figures here, Bandai!

I can pull off a lot of nice poses with the AGE-1. Its design is reminiscent of O Gundam.

I did wish it had a bit more details such as decal markings or panel lines but no biggie since the RD line is cheape... hey wait a minute. No it's not, its price is almost similar to GFF here. Its truly sad but I guess an action figure and a fixed statue warrants different treatment.

Coming from someone who has owned a couple of Robot Damashii, this figure is actually decent but very passable. You're better off getting other figures, like those from the Wing series, if you're paying for retail price.

But for what it's worth, it's a 6.5/10.0 figure.
